About Quantum Rings

Quantum Rings is a Boulder, Colorado quantum software company founded in 2023 on a simple premise: large-scale quantum circuits should run on hardware you already own. Its proprietary matrix product state (MPS) engine simulates hundreds of qubits and millions of gate operations with high fidelity on ordinary CPUs and GPUs, workloads that used to demand a supercomputer.

The results are public and reproducible. Quantum Rings simulated Google's Sycamore quantum supremacy circuits, up to 53 qubits, in 32 GB of memory or less, with an average XEB of 0.678 (arXiv:2411.12131). On the full 53-qubit circuit, the simulator has scored 0.622 and 0.549 across two studies, against the 0.002 Google reported for the same circuit on its quantum processor (arXiv:2512.07311).

The Quantum Rings SDK is used at more than 250 universities, including MIT, Harvard, Princeton, and Oxford, with more than 15 million circuits executed by over 8,000 users. Quantum Rings is also the team behind Open Quantum, where the Quantum Rings simulator runs circuits from any supported framework.
